You start out strong with this piece. Letting the reader know that today was a turning point in your life. My favorite part of this poem is the visual aspects of the first stanza where you compare memories and your mind in general to a moat. Which is constantly moving but limited to such a small circumference. You continue with the water reference with the vessel set a drift section. The second stanza is so bittersweet. Sweet in the flow of poetry but bitter in the imagery caused to the reader. In the third stanza the line "so foolishly, i look to my hands" which seems to be one of those mannerisms present in all humans, which comes about when he loose something we once held with/in our hands.

You end simply with "you can't comfort me." You are right sometimes those we love can't comfort us. Some search deep within themselves to find comfort or look to the sky and pray. Whatever your method I hope you find what you are looking for.

I've only ever had one Lucid Dream, I only remember coming to the conclusion that I was dreaming.
